Tri-City Baptist Church is a very unique fellowship of believers. It is multi-ethnic and multi-generational. It is also a ministry hub for worldwide disciple-making through education, children’s homes, evangelism, church planting, and one on one mentoring. Our ministry hosts community outreach endeavors like a school for children to learn instrumental and vocal skills for lifetime ministry and performance. We host a large preschool and academy that reaches into many local neighborhoods. We also host a mission agency that encourages hope and faith around the world. Additionally, we host a college and seminary to train young people in a local church environment so they can be the most effective serving around the world.

You can see that our church hosts many ministries, but above all, it’s a church. We are a body of believers who serve one another, minister to one another, love one another, accept one another, and give freely of time and talent to each person. We are blessed with experienced pastors as well as a number of young pastors. We are not trying to recreate Disneyland on Sunday morning, but rather humbly ask the Holy Spirit to do the work that none of us can do, which is to change lives permanently,  give hope to those who are hurting, and exalt Jesus as the only solution to man’s dilemma.

We are a church family that appreciates old hymns and new choruses. We are a church family that is tied to ancient, truthful, doctrinal positions, but appreciates new ways of telling the greatest story of all time, “…God so loved the world that He gave…” We are a church family that has many programs to teach the whole family, not only doctrinal truths but also how to live in a post-Christian and post-modern world. However, these programs will never replace the dedication we have to the individual and the particular needs of every member of our church family. We believe that, in a world that is busy fixing the road for their children, we must be preparing our children for a road in which cultural Christianity will be honored less and less. We know that we are not to be conformed to the world’s systems, but we also know that Christ left us “in” the world but not to be “of” the world. We understand this tension and attempt to teach and model for our children and church family what it means to be a true “Christ follower,” not as a simple cliché, but in the heart and in truth.

I encourage you to come and visit us on a Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. Listen to a podcast of a sermon or watch a service on LiveStream. We have Adult Bible Fellowship Classes and children’s Sunday School classes at 9:15 a.m. on Sundays. Those classes are great teaching and “friend-making” environments. We call that hour “the reaching and teaching” time of our church life. I teach systematically through individual books of the Bible on Sunday nights at 6:00 p.m. During the school year we have a tremendous children’s program known as AWANA during this hour. Also during the Sunday evening hour, we have something very unique that we call PMDiscipleship. This is an array of classes on financial management, child/teen rearing, discipleship, evangelism, marriage enrichment, hymn-playing, etc. The variety of topics are great and equip our church family to be salt and light in a world that does not know Christ. It equips our church family with Christian answers to children, marriage, finances, discipleship, evangelism, doctrinal beliefs in a world saturated with so many false gods.

We would love to have you enjoy our hospitality. If you are our guest one Sunday, I always stand in the foyer after the service to greet people. Please come up and introduce yourself. I would love to get to know you. My wife of 32 years is Elma. My 28-year-old married son is an Air Force combat pilot and my 27-year-old married daughter is a nurse. I know I speak for all of them when I say, “From my family to yours, we would love to have the opportunity to serve you.”
